Providing a regular social activity with a good meal

Liz Sykes talks about herself and her new role as lunch club coordinator.

"I have been a parishioner of St Pauls Church for over 20 years and my boys were members of the crèche, then Sunday School and they were both Confirmed at the Church. As all good church goers I am on lots of rotas and I have served 2 terms on the PCC. My parents moved a lot when I was a child for my father's job so the place I really consider home is Mill Hill as it is the longest I have ever lived anywhere in my life.

I was a Managing Director of a market research company for many years but I left that world in 2010 to focus on my family. My Dad moved to Mill Hill to be close to us after my mother died and he loved it. One of the high lights of his week was attending the Good Neighbour's lunch club. It made him so happy and he made friends with some delightful people. It was the pleasure the club gave my Dad which inspired me to apply for the position. I want to make the members feel as happy and welcome as my dad did." Liz
